Join Our November Town Hall

Open to the public/Via Zoom.

  • Program

In January, we came together to share that Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) will no longer support School of Commons in its current form as of January 2027 and to begin collectively imagining what comes next. Since then, 87 of you have signed our Open Letter, we've continued the search for a new institutional home and joined Global Artivism (21–23 September) to explore new ground.

This Town Hall is where we regroup: share what's moved, open the next round of collective thinking, and launch the call to action for October's fundraising campaign.

Whether you join to listen, to share, or simply to be present, your participation helps sustain and strengthen the future of School of Commons.

Together, we aim to sustain this commons of learning as it transitions into new ground, supported by solidarities of care and collective imagination.

Agenda

18:00–18:10 — Welcome & Framing (10 min) Re-entry into the tensile structures metaphor: what's held, what's shifted since January. Intentions. 18:10–18:25 — Where We Are Now (15 min) An update on SoC's current position: the institutional home search (ongoing), reflections from joining Global Artivism (21–23 September) and the countdown to January 2027. 18:25–18:40 — Open Letter: Progress & Next Signatures (15 min) 87 signatories so far. A look at how the letter has been used and received, and an invitation to widen its reach. 18:40–19:00 — Open Conversation: Pathways Forward (20 min) Collective discussion on institutional homes, structural models, and sustainability, building on January's brainstorm. 19:00–19:20 — Call to Action: Fundraising Campaign (20 min) Kicking off in October. What the campaign looks like, what kind of support is needed, and how people can get involved (time, skills, networks, funds). 19:20–19:30 — Closing & Next Steps (10 min) What happens after the Town Hall, timelines, and how we stay connected.
