Ways & Workings (W&W) is a methodology developed by School of Commons (SoC) that assembles the themes, methods, and environments that directly inform the learning and knowledge spaces facilitated within and as part of SoC.

The W&W methodology serves as a navigational tool to connect these various sites of work, practice, and research in a form and manner which can be (re)appropriated, (re)contextualised, and (re)used in settings and environments outside of and beyond SoC.

The approach towards developing each W&W is typically informal, against-the-grain, or alternative in its approach. Our W&W’s include often overlooked, unacknowledged, or underrepresented themes, methods, and environments which exist outside of conventional ‘ways-of-working-and-doing’.

Environments

Environments compose the different situations and surroundings in which learning takes places, either physically, socially, or virtually.
