Ways and Workings

W&W's is a methodology developed by School of Commons which assembles the various themes, methods, and environments that are essential to spaces of learning and knowledge, but which are often overlooked, unacknowledged or sit outside of typical “ways of working”.

W&W serves as a navigational tool that connects various sites of work, practice, and research, forming a broad, alternative, and multidimensional directory of collaborative efforts, and how we work within and around systems. This approach is typically more informal, against-the-grain or alternative in their approach.

Examples range from “procrastination” to “doodling”, to “organised time management”, to “publishing” to “deep hanging out”. No Way & Working is too formal or informal, intellectual or based from lived, daily experience.

W&W function as navigational tools that connect various sites of work, practice and research, to create a broad and alternative, multidimensional directory of how we work together, and how we work within and around systems. They are typically more informal, against-the-grain or alternative in their approach.
