Open to: ZHdK and SOC only Workshop led by Koenraad Hinnekint, LUCA School of Arts

Join us for a workshop where you will delve into new and speculative ideas to reimagine higher art education from a non-human perspective. Discover the transformative potential of this new perspective for educational design and EDI policies in higher art education.

In this workshop, you will explore forms of intelligence beyond human-created environments and thought systems, challenging the traditional separation between culture and nature. You will investigate the intricate relationships between living and non-living elements and develop speculative ideas for an eco-inspired educational design and social justice policy.

You will examinehow to approach learning environments and curricula from an ecosystem (nature) perspective rather than solely from human (cultural) frameworks. Whether you are a student, lecturer, or researcher, this exploration will inspire new ideas andimpact your work, opening up new possibilities and perspectives for personal growth and professional development.

The final goal of this workshop is to develop an Ecology of Justice Archive and Manifesto, presenting ideas and statements for a more sustainable and equitable approach to higher art education. All work in this workshop starts from the premise that in our increasingly complex educational world, new forms of injustice are emerging, which we can only fully address if we are willing to set aside human-centric perspectives and embrace new ways of thinking.
