What are tools for shaping group conversations in ways that facilitate listening, trust, openness, inclusivity? What would we like to involve in our intentions when we are speaking together? How can we shift our default communication dynamics? In a collective, what are ways for us to reflect upon and talk about how we’d like to talk with each other?

We are interested in forms that can help create space, awaken our senses, and re-shape social choreographies. In a spirit of learning (ourselves very much included), we will guide the group through some simple formats, experimenting with roles, rhythms, speech, and silence.

Who are we?

Eleonora Toniolo is a designer interested in community building processes: for her MA in Social Design she’s been exploring how silence can generate mutual listening and inclusivity in group interactions.

Jonathan Lorand is studying tools for group conversations around wishes and visions, both personal and collective, as part of his MA in transdisciplinarity at the ZHdK.

How to join? Please register in advance by writing to info@thedesertitopposes.xyz To ensure a safe environment for all participants, we kindly ask everyone to be tested, vaccinated, or recently recovered. We can provide a limited number of self-tests, please let us know in advance.

The workshop is part of the The Desert it Opposes.

a grainy purple background is overlaid with a thin grid. Soft yellow blobs float in and around it, together with some smaller orange curvy blobs and grey rounded lines. Some of them overlap each other creating a composition of shapes and colors. The title is written in white lowercase letters below the composition
