#1 Mou Gan Project
Seasalt Farm School
We enter the salt fields to work.
In the salt fields, knowledge is not taught, but sensed through labour. Tides, sunlight, sand, wind, and time: these more-than-human elements participate in the process of “learning.”
We work alongside local salt farmers: stepping into sand and water, cracking open shells with stones to measure the salinity of brine. Through repetition and waiting, we witness how time slowly allows salt to crystallise.
In this process, the body becomes a way of understanding time. Knowledge is no longer simply explained, but sensed through touch and action.
