Accessibility and Inclusivity in Digital Learning and Working Spaces: A Living Glossary Workshop
03.11.2026, 18:00 - 19:30 (CET)
- Online
- Program
To join the workshop, please confirm your place by emailing Amy Gowen at amy.gowen@zhdk.ch.
Who gets to take part in the spaces where we learn and work online, and on whose terms? In this workshop we’ll build a living glossary together: the words, practices and conditions that make digital learning and working spaces accessible and inclusive, or that keep people out.
The workshop is the next step in a long-term research project that will eventually take publication form, supported by Stiftung Mercator Schweiz. It also continues our work with Global Artivism, following our contribution on epistemic justice at their Europe Regional Virtual Convening in September.
Access
- Language: our facilitators speak English and German and are happy to support with oral translation.
- Ways to take part: both passive and active participation are welcome. Keep your camera and microphone on or off as you prefer, and find an environment that feels comfortable for you for the duration of the workshop.
- Live transcription: available in the language of your choice, which you can turn on from your own device.
- Recording: a recording will be available to watch back at a later date.
_______________________________________________________________________ Global Artivism Month is a worldwide mobilization of art and culture for a safe and just world, led by the Global South and Global Majority. From 1 November to Human Rights Day on 10 December, artists, collectives, organizations and movements are invited to connect what they already do to one shared global platform. Everyone is welcome, and taking part is free. Here are three ways to join:
- Put me on the map. Add your organization, collective or practice so others can find you and your work is amplified.
- Spotlight my event. Share an activity you are already planning and it will be featured in the global calendar.
- Feature my art. Submit a work that speaks to justice, dignity or a thriving planet to join the Global Artivism Mosaic.
Each takes a few minutes through the Participation Form. Running a program or festival? Write to natalia@globalartivism.ca. Learn more at globalartivism.org.
