Between Manzini and London
Since 2023, Chantelle Lue has been part of the leadership team at School of Commons, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK), where she shapes communications and the Making Public Program.
A researcher and facilitator based in London and originally from Southern Africa, Chantelle's expanded practice explores questions of kinship, liminality, otherness, and belonging. Working across self-organised practices, living archives, and the internet age, she is interested in how knowledge is produced, shared, and sustained through communities.
At School of Commons, her role focuses on making the program’s processes, practices, and outcomes publicly accessible, enabling the circulation of knowledge produced through collective learning while advocating for alternative ways of knowing, working, and being together.
Drawing on her research project UBUNGXENYE (Parthood), she creatively directed the development of School of Commons’ new website. Conceived as a digital garden and directory for ecosystems, the platform functions as a communal resource for collectively exploring, documenting, and extending the infrastructures that support peer learning, knowledge sharing, and collaborative practice.

The project sought to increase the flow, dialogue, and exchange of experiences between curators and artists from Switzerland and the South American Altiplano, connecting with specific territories through artistic residencies. Find out more
