We are breathing beings, but breathing usually does not require any thought. Yet our feelings and memories have a strong impact on our respiratory system – and vice versa. How can we tune into this process that makes air flow through our body? For (porously) anchored in the peripheries of time, Monika Dorniak draws from her interdisciplinary background in performance, psychology, and biochemical practice-based research. The work invites the listener to join a micro-air-travel in which the boundaries between the inside and the outside of our bodies become permeable. The sound score is dedicated to the alliance of the human with the ›more-than-human‹ and was developed in collaboration with sound artist Monty Callaghan.

A first version was jointly practiced during the CollActive Materials co-design workshop »Breathing in, Breathing out. Practices of Air« in Spring 2023, and debuted as part of CollActive Materials exhibition in Autumn 2023.
